About the Farm
Newaukum Valley Farm has been in operation since 2003. We originated on the banks of the Newaukum River, but now reside on the banks of the Chehalis River. Joshua Newaukum Hyatt, the farmer, decided to keep his name in the farm, so he left it the same after the move.

There are no chemicals, herbicides, or pesticides used in the operation. Hand and mechanical cultivation take care of the weeds. Floating row covers are used to keep insects off of the delicious produce. Organic fertilizers are incorporated into the soils as well as manure from the local dairies in Adna. This creates a favorable growing environment that is beneficial to all. A great deal of effort is made to keep the flourishing operation sustainable. Newaukum Valley Farm sells at the Olympia Farmers Market as well as the Community Farmers Market in Chehalis. In addition to the markets, local restaurants as well as restaurants in Seattle area delivered to on a weekly basis. This is Newaukum Valley Farm's first year of offering CSA shares. We are very excited to offer these shares and are looking forward to meeting and getting to know our members! |
